There were many forces and ideas that motivated forces inspired efforts to remake and reform American society during the antebellum years. Americans were turning to make society better by dividing antebellum (Before the civil war). It was abolitionism, attempting to end slavery. Promote women’s rights and turn to god. Battle poverty and darkness behind this movement were there major movement’s abolitionism.
In document 1 Jackson democracy, freedoms ferment by Alice Felt Tyler “voice of the people is the voice of god. Americans look upon religion as a promoter of civil and political, religious revival movement the first half of 1800’s that everybody had to believe in god”. In the world now you can believe in any religion you want or be religious.
The motive was to have the rights given to them that there suppose to and they should be treated equal. In document 6 the quote “It is the right of those who suffer from it to refuse allegiance to it; it had to do with suffrage (the right to vote, blacks, women and, slaves). Nelsen Mandela was finally free after many years in jail for helping his fellow people.
This document 6 also talks about equality, people having to be treated equally. “All men and women are created equal, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, in the mid 1800’s in the U.S., women’s movements, movements beginning in the mid 1800’s in the U.S. that sought grater rights and opportunities for women”. If men and women aren’t equal they don’t have to pledge. Rosa Parks refusing her seat in the front of the bus to a white guy showing that she was equal.
There were many forces that motivated and inspired this effort to remake and reform American society during the antebellum years. Success to give some rights to women. Failure to end slavery. To me they did a great job with the USA just had to treat everybody equal.
