a) Nick Newbury, the Company Director of Original Travel has asked me to write him a short report to understand the key areas. These are my findings.
I have identified 4 key stakeholders in your company. The contributions and concerns of these stakeholders are included in my report as follows.
The owners of your company have high power and high interest. Your and their contributions are your capital and the ideas for exclusive travel opportunities. Concerns arise through acquiring Tim Best as it might lead to losing your identity and your customers not accepting the change of travel offers.
Your employees have low power but a high interest in your company. Their concerns are focused on their jobs as there might be losses if Original Travel does not perform well.
Your customers have low power but a high interest in your company. The contributions are their money and the wish to book through Original Travel. I see their concerns where the company might become too commercial and loose the exclusive feel.
Your suppliers (hotels, airlines and activity providers) have low power but a high interest in your company. Their contributions are the services they provide to you and your customers. The concerns they might have are losses of income if Original Travel fails to make profits or loses customers.
b) To identify how Original Travel could improve and successfully integrate the Tim Best team into the operation a SWOT analysis would be very useful.
This type of analysis is designed to help identify several areas of your business that may need improvement. SWOT is an acronym for; Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threats. Original Travel should consider this analysis to be one of the most important steps to becoming one of the leading operators in the field.
