How does the writing process you read about in this class differ from the process you have
used in the past?
Which step in the writing process is easiest for you to complete? Which step is the most
difficult?
How might you overcome this obstacle to become a more effective writer?

The writing process taught in this course requires steps of preparation: pre writing, which is also known as brainstorming, mapping, or listing. This helps to support
the topic using related facts. The next step is drafting an outline process that involves
research and sources of documentation. Once this information is collected, the writer
can begin the thesis statement. The third step is the revising of the document. This
stage will be the designing to create an audience-attractive title; rephrase sentences;
relocate paragraphs to make sure that the writing is in uniform and makes sense;
include supportive facts, examples, and data; complete the final statement to reiterate
the topic and supportive findings. Editing will be the next step to include complete
sentences and removing fragment statements and clarifying vagueness, in addition to
making sure the content is non-sexist, or non-biased, and that the paper layout is
appropriate as required. At this point it is recommended to have the assignment
analyzed for feedback prior to the final wrap-up.
The easiest process is the combination of steps three and four, simultaneously.
As the sentences, paragraphs, and the order of the paper are rearranged, the editing
can also be included to eliminate the additional step. The final evaluation, prior to the
wrap up may be the most difficult part of the paper. However, to overcome this is to
make sure that the potential audience will be left with a fascination of the final project,
and not questions. The SQ3R worksheet can be used to evaluate the paper as well.
