Bipolar disorder is a complex disorder. There are   many different symptoms and types related with it. Intense mood swings to impulsive mood swings fluctuating from trivial to severe.     Symptoms of bipolar disorder can fall into three unique headings.   Bipolar is the intense and erratic mood swings. Mania symptoms are extreme happiness, very high sex drive, irritability, amplified energy, reduced need for sleep, brain racing, agitation, and a tendency to make unachievable goals.
Clinical depression is a mental illness that is dangerous enough that a person is not able to function well in their daily lives.   It may even cause the individual to be suicidal.   Unipolar depression is the expression recognized to this condition.   Symptoms of this disease are comparable to those of mood disorder. The mood disorder is called bipolar disorder.
The American Psychiatric Association’s Diagnostic and Statistical Manual defines unipolar depression as a significant depressive period that lasts more than two weeks during which the patient exhibits at least five depressive symptoms (Comer, 2013).   Symptoms of depression include insomnia, daily bouts of depression, inability to concentrate on the task on hand, and loss of appetite and loss of interest in previously pleasurable activities and thoughts of suicide (Comer, 2013).  
Unipolar depression is thought to be set off by a combination of factors rather than being advanced from one source or exposure. Depression is a genetic, biochemical imbalance of the neurotransmitter's serotonin, norepinephrine and dopamine in combination with stress.   Unipolar disorder touches more women than men and gives the impression later in life, although bipolar disorder affects men and women equally, and usually shows up by the age of 18 years old.
