Elie Wiesel Biography
Elie Wiesel is a writer who has written nearly 40 books in his life time. ("Elie Wiesel - Biography".) He is Jewish and a survivor of the holocaust.   “After the war, the teenaged Wiesel found asylum in France, where he learned for the first time that his two older sisters had survived the war.   Wiesel mastered the French language and studied philosophy at the Sorbonne, while supporting himself as a choir master and teacher of Hebrew.” (“Elie Wiesel Biography." For his literary and human rights activities, he has received numerous awards including the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the U.S. Congressional Gold Medal, the National Humanities Medal, the Medal of Liberty, and the rank of Grand-Croix in the French Legion of Honor. In 1986, Elie Wiesel won the Nobel Prize for Peace, and soon after, Marion and Elie Wiesel established The Elie Wiesel Foundation for Humanity. (“Elie Wiesel." Elie Wiesel also awarded the Nobel peace prize in 1986.   He continues his book writing career his latest novel named The Sonderberg Case was published in 2010.   He is currently an American citizen living New York with his wife Marion and their son Elisha.
