The Day I shot my first Gun: A memoir
My mom finally said I was old enough and responsible enough to do the deed. It was an obtained privilege that I received with good grades and behavior. I was so jealous of my sister going to the range with her friends and having a good time. Before then, I would spend almost every afternoon after school playing with my BB gun. Improving my accuracy, loading time, and how quickly I could spot a target where all the things I needed to go into the big leagues. But first I had to learn all of the rules of handling a gun which took time but soon became second nature when doing target practice outside. When I was ready, my mom and dad took me to their save and pulled everything out. They started training with me and every week started to let me handle the guns more and more. We scheduled a day at the range with a couple of our friends but they were more like family. They day took forever to come and every day I would count down until that Saturday morning finally came.
When we finally got to the range we unpacked our stuff, and went down to the firing line. People there were already shooting so I couldn’t really hear anybody even with my earring protection. We found a lane and loaded up our friends .22 pistol. I took one shot, BANG! They gun went off and kicked pretty hard in my hand. I fired about 30 more rounds out of it and put it down. The next gun I shot was my mom .357 magnum revolver. This was a little different from the other pistol but was still a blast to shoot. From that day forward I would take most of my off-time shooting or researching gun. This finally led up to me buying my own gun.
After that day we found a local range where we could shoot even more without spending a lot of money being a guest at the first range we went to.
