The influence of culture extends to many aspects of human lives, including behaviors associated with gender. Over the past 20-30 years people have witnessed significant changes in the views on the acceptability of certain forms of behavior for men and women. Of course, the American culture is one of the most dynamic with regard to issues related to the manifestation of sex and gender differences (and similarities in the manifestations of this area). This dynamism has caused many serious problems and conflicts, but at the same time, it became a source of optimism associated with human ideas about the possibility of changing the nature of human relationships and culture itself.
Firstly, a number of analogies between gender and cultural issues and the evolution of views of research in these areas in the traditional psychological science should be discussed. Now, the results of cross-cultural studies on gender differences, including topics such as gender stereotypes, role behavior, and gender self-concept, as well as other psychological constructs can be analyzed (Beall, 1993). In addition, some theoretical models in which psychologists try to explain the mechanisms of gender differences and cultural diversity associated with their symptoms will be discussed.
