offering a psycho educational type of group to their residents. This group will focus on raising one's self-awareness within a facilitated group environment. A combination of therapeutic techniques and processes are integrated, designed to help identify and explore the limitations they experience, caused by brain injury trauma. Identifying these barriers, along with exploring ways to better able cope with issues from these limitations is the main objective goal of this group.
History of Organization
The Transitional Living Centre (TLC) was founded in 1999 to provide community based
residential rehabilitation services for persons with an acquired brain injury. TLC provides each client with a personalized program which allows for community integration. This organization believes in promoting independent living skills which allow each client to achieve highest possible level of participation within the community. TLC provides a flexible, comprehensive program which balances the need for structure with increasing levels of responsibility according to the abilities and goals of each individual client. The rationale for creating this group is based on the understanding that many
