Nowadays it is really common for people to speak two languages, or at least dominate one and understand another one. Today's society has pushed people to understand each other, that is a big factor for globalization to happen. Nonetheless, there are some crucial questions that need to be answered when dealing with this.
Do people who speak different languages inhabit different worlds? How do languages provides and clues about cultural attitudes? Do bilinguals think more flexibly? "When we study human language, we are approaching what some might call the 'human essence', the distinctive qualities of mind that are, so far as we know, unique to man."   - Walt Whitman.   In my opinion not only do bilinguals inhabit different worlds or change the way they act when speaking different languages. The way we speak a certain language is directly tied to the communities we belong to. So even in our mother tongue we inhabit different worlds, and as said language and the way we speak is a really big part of our identities and gives a lot of knowledge about societies and communities. While we join some of this communities by choice, like social groups or sports; we belong to others because of our families or our background. As individuals we have the power to change communities, but communities affect us in the way we think and behave, and obviously speak.

As a bilingual person, i firmly believe that i think more flexibly than people who are only able to speak a single language. In a way, I perceive the world with a wider perspective, it allows me to understand a much bigger part of the planet, to comprehend other people's point of view. When I think about about multilingualism,   the first thing that comes to my mind is internationality. Can you imagine a president or an enterprise's CEO not being able to speak at least 2 languages?
