To manufacture affordable bespoke cars, it is fundamental for Dynamic Sports Cars (DSC) to improve continually in quality of products and services as well as customer responsiveness in order to be competitive.
Hence, it is evident the need for quality improvement in DCS, especially taking into account a recent drop in production quality in DCS alongside with several internal and external quality issues in the organization.
The advantages of a Total Quality Management system to improve quality have been widely recognized by many manufacturing firms during recent decades. Therefore, a new strategy based on TQM to improve quality performance in DCS has been identified.
The aim of this report is to develop a strategy to improve the quality performance of Dynamic Sport Cars considering a Total Quality Management System approach as an effective strategy.
It outlines the current situation of DSC, explains the total quality management concepts, discusses alternatives approaches and identifies an appropriate strategy for DSC as well as critical factors to have a successful implementation.
2 Overview of the current Situation in DSC
The production quality has dropped and some products have not fully met the customer specification. Hence, it is required to develop a strategy for quality improvement in DCS. Some of the causes of the poor quality performance are shown in the Figure 1.
