Here are 15 identifications. On the exam there will be only 10 and you will have to answer 5 for 10 points each for a total of 50 points. Be able to tell me who, what, when, where and why about these events or individuals.

What follows are 3 essay, but only 2 will be on the exam. You will write on ONE (1).
1. Africans first landed in Virginia in 1619 and their status was unclear for the next 50 years. What was their situation during and after the American Revolution? Be able to talk about at least 5 issues as they relate to slavery from 1619 to 1812.
2. Take a position of being either a Loyalist or a Patriot and discuss the 4 main reasons why you would either fight for or oppose the American Revolution.
3. You are a member of the Iroquois Confederacy. What is your governmental structure and what parts do you think Benjamin Franklin may have used in his Albany Plan for a Union? What parts did he leave out?
